About the role:

Are you passionate about driving change and making a meaningful impact in the realms of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices? We are seeking an experienced ESG Manager to join our dynamic team and lead our efforts in ESG reporting, climate risk management, and decarbonisation. In this newly created role, you will play a pivotal part in advancing Village Roadshow’s sustainability goals across our diverse portfolio.

Please note that this role is based in Melbourne with the expectation to travel to Queensland at least once per month.

Key responsibilities may include:

• Develop the publication of the annual ESG report, using a foundational ESG reporting framework
• Establish the company's climate risk management approach
• Identify and develop a unified climate risk assessment framework
• Create climate models for quantitative risk analysis and financial impact assessment
• Integrate climate risks into financial models, ensuring compliance with disclosure regulations, and support risk mitigation efforts
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to build understanding, alignment, and consensus for effective management of climate and ESG risks and opportunities
• Develop and own a decarbonisation plan and emissions abatement strategy

The key skills and competencies we are seeking in the successful candidate include:  

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., environmental science, sustainability, finance, business)
• Postgraduate degree in Sustainability or related disciplines would be an advantage
• Proven experience in ESG and sustainability roles, with a track record of leading, executing, and owning climate risk management initiatives
• Extensive knowledge of ESG frameworks
• Strong understanding of climate science, climate policy, and the global climate landscape
• Exceptional project management skills, including experience working with cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive climate change initiatives in a large, cross-functional organisation
• Experience and understanding of sustainable/climate-related finance and its impact on business
